The room was clean and functional, if a little small, although on a par with any city hotel. There was free parking available at all times that we needed it.

South Park Hotel was excellent for our purposes and exceeded our expectations in every area. The room was clean with plenty of space, electrical outlets, internet access, a new tv, and good furniture; the bathroom was well-designed with plenty of room; the staff was friendly and helpful; the restaurant attached has excellent food and has a very good reputation and attracts people from all over the London area, offering a fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisine; the access to central London by train was very good and easy to use; the neighborhood was quiet and attractive; finally, the other guests were very quiet. The negative reviews that I read were misleading to the point that they misrepresent the hotel. I had trouble finding vacancies during Wimbledon, so I booked with South Park Hotel with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised.
There are just the things but they were not serious problems: the bed was more firm than my husband preferred, there were extra charges for some services that could have been complimentary, and our room fan had been removed for repairs--but a fan was brought in on request.

The owner and his wife is uncultured and does not know how to talk .
The intercom was not working . The toilet was not having toilet paper holder . No breakfast arrangement . Heater was not working round the clock as they have specific timing .

I arrived in Croydon after a long journey from the SW of France a bit stressed and with a sick car. The management and staff were very helpful and by the end of my stay I was completely relaxed well fed and car fixed. I have eaten Indian and Asian food all around the world but none better than in the South Park Hotel.

South Park staff were very helpful . Room was smallish but very clean. Continental breakfast was limited but were offered a choice of cooked at extra charge (this was in the details in the room but was not mentioned in the breakfast room). However when we checked out and told staff we had cooked breakfast on two mornings they thanked for honesty and waived charges which was a nice touch. Parking limited on evenings that restaurant is open. and would be if hotel full.
having to walk through restaurant to get to room

The staff are friendly. The shower set is fantastic. Room is slightly small. Bus stop is just outside but there are no shops nearby so one has to take a bus out to buy snacks or drinks. Problem is poor phone reception as our O2 and T-mobile have no signal at all.

Location convenient to the tramway and S.Croydon station. As I was attending a very sociable reunion, this suited me perfectly and was substantially cheaper than staying in Central Croydon. The in-house Indian/Chinese restaurant would have been a great attraction had I not been staying out late ! The hotel was spotlessly clean and smart and the staff friendly and attentive.

The hotel has a quiet and peaceful location . The rooms are clean and nicely done. The hotel staff is friendly and warm. There is an easy access to the city centre and the east croydon train station. The restaurant offers excellent Indo-chinese cuisine . In fact , the food is so good that I always prefer to dine here whenever I am in croydon. A perfect place to stay if you are on a short visit .
Breakfast is only offered till 8:30 AM. Should extend the timings a bit.
